Hi, we are going to be placing some of our adults. With any dog that is being rehomed you want to give the dog time to bond. Remember that the dogs have lived with my husband and myelf most if not all of their adult lives. Find out more information and tips here.
Whether you are looking at one of our older puppies or adults or you a looking at adopting a dog from a rescue, please remember that it takes time for that dog to acclimate itself to your families routines.
From time to time we have adults and/or older puppies to place. There is nothing wrong with them, they may be a dog that we just do not feel meets what we want to add to our program or an older female who has had a couple of litters.
Not every aussie does well in a multiple dog setting.
In an ideal world we would have the time and resources to care for each and everyone of our aussies and while we feel that they are well cared for, sometimes we feel that they each deserve the best life has to offer. We love our toy aussies and as a breeder, we want to give them the best lives that we can and sometimes that means we need to place them so they get more one on one time.
So that is why we look for homes for some, so they can have that one on one time that they deserve.
We prefer that the prospective families be within driving distance, while I feel puppies adapt quickly to new homes I worry about my older toy australian shepherds. Like people each tends to have their own personality.
Our aussies receive the best care that they we can provide.
Our vet gives our yearly shots and does an annual physical exam on our aussies. Our aussies are kept on a heartworm preventative and regular deworming schedule.
When we place one they are up to date on shots and you have access to their vet records.
Our main vet is Dr. Bill Purdy at Kentuckiana Animal Clinic.
